The Hopkins Running of the Bulls is the opening event of the Raspberry Festival on Saturday, July 8th. The event begins on 8th Avenue North at 2 PM with the participants and sponsors being led by Patches the bull down Mainstreet in a procession to the starting line on 15th Avenue South. The Hopkins Mayor will make an official proclamation and start the race by lighting off a single rocket. The runners will race down Mainstreet and try to avoid getting their flags pulled from their backs by official bull runners and roller derby bulls. Prizes abound at the finish for the winners and the losers. The awards and after party starts immediately near the finish line and features food stands, beer, refreshments live music and family friendly games! Join the fun as a runner or a spectator. All proceeds from this event will be used to create the world’s largest raspberry monument in downtown Hopkins.
